Daniele is a social worker, specializing in Social Assistance and Human Rights. She graduated from PUC-Rio, where, today, she is also pursuing a master’s degree in Social Work. A black, lesbian woman, practitioner of Afro-Brazilian religion candomblé, born in the favela of Vidigal (RJ), Daniele has experience in the development and coordination of social programs and projects. Since the 2000s, she has been working in civil society organizations and state-led projects in the areas of human rights, integral protection of human rights defenders, race, gender, youth, sexual and reproductive rights, slums, and low-income peripheries. In recent years, she has dedicated herself to working for the full protection of human rights defenders, in addition to producing data on threats, violence, and violations against human rights defenders.
